Crace was master-planned from scratch in the late 2000s — narrow blocks, zero-lot-line houses, and 6-star (now 7-star) energy ratings baked in from day one.
Because most Crace homes were built after 2000 to at least 6-star ratings, heating and cooling loads are lower than the older Canberra stock — but that also means undersizing is easy to get wrong. We do a full Manual-J style load calc rather than square-metre rules of thumb, because a 7-star home in Crace can be comfortably heated by a system that would be laughed out of a 1970s Weston Creek brick veneer.
