Gungahlin is Canberra's newest big district — most homes were built after 2000 to 6-star (and now 7-star) energy ratings, which changes both the sizing calcs and the roof-cavity access we get for ducting.
Because most Gungahlin homes were built after 2000 to at least 6-star ratings, heating and cooling loads are lower than the older Canberra stock — but that also means undersizing is easy to get wrong. We do a full Manual-J style load calc rather than square-metre rules of thumb, because a 7-star home in Gungahlin can be comfortably heated by a system that would be laughed out of a 1970s Weston Creek brick veneer.
