Air Conditioning Palmerston

Palmerston was one of the first Gungahlin suburbs to be released in the early 1990s — big single-storey brick-veneer family homes that were built before ducted reverse-cycle became standard.

Because most Palmerston homes were built after 2000 to at least 6-star ratings, heating and cooling loads are lower than the older Canberra stock — but that also means undersizing is easy to get wrong. We do a full Manual-J style load calc rather than square-metre rules of thumb, because a 7-star home in Palmerston can be comfortably heated by a system that would be laughed out of a 1970s Weston Creek brick veneer.

Nearly every home in Palmerston has solar-ready wiring or an existing PV array.
